Inspector's Boot Camp is a training resource for the Fire and Life Safety industry.

Dedicated to enhancing the value of inspectors through education, certification, and hands-on training in the latest inspection tools and technologies, graduates of IBC represent some of the leading service providers of building inspections.

Inspector's Boot Camp will provide the training necessary to build a great inspection team.

Location

Inspector's Boot Camp is held at the at the FAST Lab at Aiken Technical College, Aiken SC. The site was chosen for the excellent classroom environment, making available a PC and PDA for each student, but also for the first-class training lab in which over 25 different fire alarm systems by a variety of manufacturers are installed and ready for use in our inspection training. The program will include training on every aspect of conducting professional fire alarm and life safety inspections in today's commercial buildings.

Classroom Instruction

Each class allows up to 20 students, each with their own Windows PC workstation with internet access and scanning PDA. Two roving instructors will provide technical assistance during class discussions. Our Lead instructor will utilize a video projection system during class, with students following along on their own PC and scanning PDA.

Lab Environment

The FAST Lab consists of (3) sections; Fire Alarm, Sprinkler, and Special Hazards. The Fire Alarm lab features over 25 independent fire alarm control systems from a wide variety of manufacturers including EST, FCI, Gamewell, Notifier, Pyrotronics, Silent Knight, Simplex and many others.

Each system has an assortment of peripheral devices including smoke detectors, pull stations, duct detectors, heat detectors, beam detectors, and indicating appliances. The Sprinkler lab includes a fire pump, controller, and fully functional sprinkler systems, while the Special Hazards lab has a wide-range of suppression systems from Ansul, Fenwal, Fike, Kidde, and other leading manufacturers.
