How much does the class cost?
Registration fee can vary by class, and there are incentives for registering early. For more
information on pricing and what's included please check out the Enlist page on this site. All
you need to do is show up at the hotel the night before classes start.
What is included in the tuition?
Included are hotel accommodations, breakfasts, lunches and dinners through Friday afternoon. Classes are held at Aiken Technical College. Transportation is provided to and from the hotel. All training material is included such as classroom materials and inspection equipment for your appropriate class. The Basic Fire class includes a sound meter, battery load tester, a copy of NFPA 72 and IMSA examination costs. The Extinguisher class includes a battery load tester, a copy of NFPA 10 and all recharge supplies such as dry powder chemicals.
With all that equipment, how will I get it back home?
Your equipment can be shipped back to your office upon completion of the course at no charge to you.
Do I get credit for attending IBC?
Yes, 3.6 CEUs are granted by Aiken Technical College for the course. These credits may be used for maintaining professional certifications.
What professional certifications are available or would I be eligible for upon completion?
Fire Alarm Systems Class
The International Municipal Signals Association, IMSA, examination is provided on Friday morning. The cost of the IMSA examination is paid for by your tuition. If you pass the test, you will be eligible for membership in IMSA and will receive IMSA certification as an Interior Fire Alarm Technician - Level I. CEUs can be used towards NICET certification, although the cost of NICET testing or certification is not included.
Extinguishers & Safety Equipment Class
The NAFED/ICC certification examination is required for cortication by many states throughout the country. Students are prepped by the NAFED instructor to pass the examination. Sample questions will be provided at the end of the day. We recommend scheduling the examination with NAFED/ICC outside vendor, Pearson VUE, a week to ten-days after graduation to get the best results.
How do I get to the Aiken Technical College or the hotel?
You will be provided with directions to the hotel upon confirmation of your enlistment. A free shuttle will be provided for those who fly in to the local airport, please check your confirmation for the closest airport. If flying into another airport, you will need a rental car for transportation to the hotel. Either way, you will be asked to provide your travel arrangements after confirmation of enlistment. IBC staff can provide advice on travel arrangements if necessary.
