How much does the class cost?

Tuition is $2495. You just have to show up at the Historic Hotel Aiken in Aiken, SC
the night before classes start.

What is included in the tuition?

Included are hotel accommodations, breakfasts, lunches and dinners through Friday afternoon. Classes are held at Aiken Technical College. Transportation is provided to and from the hotel. All training material is included such as classroom materials, inspection equipment such as a sound meter, battery load tester, a copy of NFPA 72, IMSA examination costs are included as well.

With all that equipment, how will I get it back home?

Your equipment will be shipped back to your office upon completion of the course at no charge to you.

Do I get credit for attending IBC?

Yes, 3.6 CEUs are granted by Aiken Technical College for the course. These credits may be used for maintaining professional certifications.

What professional certifications are available or would I be eligible for upon completion?

The International Municipal Signals Association, IMSA, examination is provided on Friday morning. The cost of the IMSA examination is paid for by your tuition. If you pass the test, you will be eligible for membership in IMSA as an Interior Fire Alarm Technician - Level I. CEUs can be used towards NICET certification, although the cost of NICET testing or certification is not included.

How do I get to the Aiken Technical College or the hotel?

You will be provided with directions to the hotel upon confirmation of your enlistment. A free shuttle will be provided for those who fly in to the Atlanta airport (airport code: ATL) the Sunday afternoon prior to class start. Plan to arrive at the Atlanta airport between the hours of 1 and 4 PM. You will be asked to provide your travel arrangements after confirmation of enlistment. IBC staff can provide advice on travel arrangements if necessary.
